Last weekend we had a very busy Mothers Day! We were very pleased that we started the day effectively Fully Booked, accommodating only a few twos and threes that happened to drop in, being seated where we could ‘fit them in’. However, a number of larger parties of people (4 and upwards) who hadn’t already booked a table before the day were unable to get in.
Happily, our impression at the end of the day was one of satisfaction as everything went smoothly, all our staff (plus myself and Miles) worked well as a team and every customer left with a smile! We enoyed the company of all ages… from babies to octogenarians!
It was our first Mother’s Day at the Tally Ho Tearooms, as last year we opened two weeks afterwards… at Easter, which, last year was at the beginning of April… I wish they’d stop moving it around!
I organised three new puddings, a Lemon Cheesecake, a Fudge Cake and a Peach and Raspberry Shortcake (which we will continue with, on and off, throughout the summer) and each Mum received a little free gift from us of a little packet of chocolates. (I would have included a picture here but every single one of them was given away and I didn’t manage to take a picture beforehand, so I have no picture to show you!)
All in all an excellent day for the business!
